The story behind the
veterinary practice consultants of WTA
It was 1984. Dallas and Dynasty made regular appearances on the televisions of millions of Americans, Cabbage Patch Kids were the “it” gift, and an advertisement during the Super Bowl cost a measly $368,000. Cynthia Wutchiett, CPA, was providing financial consulting services to various professionals, one of whom was a veterinarian. When that veterinarian was so happy with what she had accomplished with his personal finances, he asked her to help him with his veterinary practice as well.
Soon, Cynthia’s veterinarian invited her to visit his practice to observe his processes. He wanted her feedback on what was working well and what could be improved. The experience was so rewarding. An animal lover herself, Cynthia enjoyed helping a business owner who had dedicated his life to caring for animals.
Once she began working as a veterinary practice consultant, Cynthia realized that so many veterinarians were sacrificing the needs of their families in order to provide excellent care for their patients. One practice owner did not want Cynthia to visit his family’s home because they had no furniture in their living room. She knew it didn’t have to be that way and was determined to help change things for struggling veterinary practice owners.
Cynthia quickly became dedicated to the success of her clients, and she stood out as a veterinary practice consultant. Denise Tumblin, CPA, joined Cynthia in 1993 and became a partner in 2001. Wutchiett, Tumblin, and Associates (or WTA, as many of their clients knew them) continued helping veterinary practice owners operate successfully (and furnish their living rooms). As time passed, the firm grew, adding more professionals to their team and offering more services for their clients.
Today, the firm is officially named WTA Veterinary Consultants, and Denise Tumblin leads her team of veterinary practice consultants as they carry on the good work Cynthia began back in 1984 (when Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time” was a No. 1 hit).
